Cèline Chuang haunts this project as a fellow-traveller through her words "diasporic descendants of the displaced." She wrote this poem after she and Asma connected.
Asma then asked Ashu and Charlie to make it into a song.
Ashu Rai and Charlie Yates made this track with the lovely poem “Anticolonial Maps for Lost Lovers” and a film project about such lovers close at hand. Charlie originally composed the instrumental for Ashu’s thesis film project. They decided it best fit the poem when contacted to submit something for the broader project, so they recorded Ashu reading the poem over the track and tweaked the instrumental some.
